Yes! Please see how to join below.
2. How do I join Heirloom?
If you are interested in joining Heirloom, please reach out by sending us an email to contact@heirloommade.com. We will send you instructions about the joining process. In short, this will require a portfolio evaluation by our woodworking advisors to ensure that your craftsmanship and design aesthetic meet our current needs. We look forward to seeing your unique creations and welcoming you to our community of artisans!
3. I live outside of NC. Could I still join your site?
At the moment, we are primarily looking for NC-based artisans but are also welcoming those from surrounding states (Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina). If you’re not located in these states, please stay in touch as we hope to expand to more states in the future!
For Clients
1. What are the costs to me?
There are no costs to use Heirloom! The only cost you will pay will be the cost of your furniture project that you discuss with your artisan.
2. How does Heirloom work?
Heirloom provides you with detailed profiles of local artisans. First, click on the “Artisan” link at the top of the page. Once on the Artisan page, you can browse through several artisans’ preview profiles. If you see an artisan that may fit what you are looking for, you can click “view full profile” to read more about them, their prices, and lead times as well as view a more comprehensive portfolio. If you would like to inquire about a project, click “get in touch.” This will route you to a brief intake form, which will be sent to the artisan. Your artisan should reach out shortly!
3. The artisan I reached out to isn’t getting back to me. What should I do?
This is highly unlikely to happen, but in the off chance that your artisan hasn’t gotten back to you within 24-48 hours, please contact us at: contact@heirloommade.com. We will figure out why the artisan isn’t responding and will reply to you within 24 hours.
4. What does “lead time” mean?
Building custom furniture is no easy feat and can take some time! The lead time is the amount of time that artisan is booking out. For example, if a lead time is 4 months, that means that the artisan will be ready to start working on your piece in 4 months. Realistically, artisans will have a lead time of anything from a couple weeks to several months. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t get started talking with an artisan! In fact, we encourage you to reach out to artisans that you like so that you can secure a spot in their queue.
